ITANAGAR: Twenty six scholars and seven lecturers from all of the seven states of the North East Wednesday interacted with President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi, a defence press liberate said.
The scholars and lecturers are recently on an 11-day tour to the national capital since December 1.
During the interplay, the President enquired about their smartly being and demanding situations faced through the formative years of the area and encouraged them to work laborious and contribute against the improvement of the area, the release said.
The tour is being organised through the Aizawl Battalion of the Assam Rifles below the aegis of Directorate General Assam Rifles (DGAR).
The workforce also interacted with Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and Lt Gen Asit Mistry, General Officer Commanding of Delhi Area as part of the tour and visited a number of places of historic importance.
Events like assembly with vice chief of Army Staff, visit to Rajputana Rifles Centre and Agra also are deliberate for the scholars as part of the tour, the release added.
