Old, new songs leave audience mesmerized

Nagpur: Musical tournament ‘Sursangam’ coloured the Friday evening at Scientific Society Hall with a string of old and new songs. The programme was once arranged via Kaladalan Nagpur and Shivam Park to reminisce the old and new melodies of renowned singers.
Dr Asmita Dixit was once the main performer, others being her husband Dr Anand Dixit, brothers Abhijeet Deshpande and Amit Deshpande, and mom Aparna Deshpande. Having settled in international locations like the United Kingdom and US, those siblings got here to India to have fun the art of track that they percentage within the circle of relatives.

The evening began with an exquisite music via Amit Deshpande ‘Kal ho na ho’, adopted via Anand’s ‘Khilte hain gul yahan’.

Asmita took the level with her first music ‘Meri aavaj hello pehchan hai’, at the beginning sung via Lata Mangeshkar. She went on to give songs in numerous raags like Yaman and Todi. She also rendered a few ghazals like ‘Ranjish hello sahi’ and ‘Rasm-e-ulfat’. Songs like ‘Aaj jaane ki zid na karo’, ‘Moh moh ke dhaage’, ‘Raina beeti jaayein’ and ‘Bheeni bheeni bhor, sung via Dixit, stored the target market absorbed.

Anand presented ‘Kahi dur jab din dhal jaayein’ while Abhijeet Deshpande got here up with songs like ‘Musafir hun yaaro’ and ‘Kuchh toh log kahenge’. These songs had made waves in those days and proceed to attract other people even these days because of stunning lyrics and track.

Aparna embellished the event via singing a few songs like ‘Jaayien aap kaha jayenge’. Dr Dixit thanked the musicians and organizer Pavan Manvatkar.

She also mentioned existence in England as a doctor and a wife and mom. “I think track is eternal no matter what style it belongs to. Be it Indian classical track, jazz, Bollywood or Hollywood, it simply calms the soul,” she said.

Music is one arena which knows no barriers. People like songs and track of different international locations as it has the ability to bind them, she said.


The programme concluded with couple performances via the husband wife duo Dr Dixit and the mother-daughter duo Aparna and Asmita.


The accompanying artistes had been Prakash Chavan, Vikas Barapatre, Prashant Nagmode, Rajesh Ami and Dipak Kamble. Madhavi Pande was once the anchor.
