RAJKOT: Two masked males broke into the Navlakha Palace in Gondal’s Moti Bazar and stole valuables worth over Rs 10 lakh on December nine. However, because the contributors of the royal family are based in Mumbai, the criticism with regard to the robbery used to be lodged with the Gondal town police station only on Tuesday.
The 18th century palace has been transformed into a museum by the royal family and is controlled by them. The supervisor of the museum Darshan Pithwa, in his police criticism, stated that two masked males had entered the palace all over the wee hours of December nine.
Pithwa added that the burglars broke into the Silver Room and Bhagwatisinhji Statue Room and stole valuables. These include 39kg silver ornaments and utensils from the Silver Room. They also picked up presents, received by Bhagwatisinhji, that have been placed as shows from the Statue room.
Though Pithwa stated the value of the stolen goods at Rs 10.16 lakh, assets said that as the pieces stolen had been antiques, their value could be a lot more than what he has stated.
Gondal town police inspector Okay N Ramanuj said that because the royal family members came from Mumbai on Monday, the criticism used to be filed on Tuesday. He added that the masked males were captured within the CCTV photos of the palace and the FIR used to be lodged based it.
