Robbers board train, loot passengers

VARANASI: A group of robbers decamped with cash and valuables after looting five passengers on board of Durg-Chhapra Sarnath Express close to Revati police station in Ballia overdue on Saturday evening.

The looted passengers lodged an FIR with the Government Railway Police at Chhapra railway station when the educate stopped there.

SP (GRP) Pushpanjali reached Ballia on Sunday to research and said that the robbers could be nabbed soon.

As in step with police studies, a couple of passengers had pulled the chain to prevent the educate at Revati railway station, giving the robbers a possibility to board the educate.

The gang entered S-11 and S-12 coaches and focused five passengers—Dharmendra Kumar Singh, Santosh Chandra Das, Rohit Kumar and Dipu Kumar.

The robbers requested them to show their valuables to them. After listening to the five passengers’ cries, other travellers woke up and challenged the robbers.


Sensing danger, the criminals took the cash, valuables and cell phones from the five and jumped off the educate. They jumped when the educate stopped a couple of kilometres clear of Revati railway station when they had pulled a sequence.


After being alerted, RPF group of workers rushed the injured passengers to the district clinic.


Pushpanjali, said, “Three of robbed passengers had suffered head accidents and they had been later launched from the district clinic after first support.” She said that the GRP team of Gorakhpur will probe the case.
