THANE (MAHA): Three people, together with a police officer, have been arrested for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a jeweller right here in Maharashtra, a senior Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) respectable stated Thursday.
Assistant police inspector Sunil Wagh (34) had thru someone else, identified as Mahesh Patil (36), allegedly made a requirement of Rs 10 lakh from the jeweller to avoid wasting him from motion in a criminal case, Thane ACB's inspector Seema Adnaik stated.
The jeweller lodged a criticism with the ACB, which laid a lure Wednesday night time in Dombivali town right here and stuck one Prakash Darji (36) while accepting Rs 1 lakh as first instalment of the bribe amount on behalf of Wagh, she stated.
Based on information provided by way of Darji, Wagh and Patil have been also nabbed, police stated.
The accused have been subsequently arrested and booked underneath related provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
