The state executive has spent Rs 27.55 crore to ascertain the laboratory. The multi-disciplinary analysis unit of the Union executive too will function within the building. The Centre has supplied Rs 5.25 crore for it.
One of the major labs within the building will likely be viral analysis and diagnostic lab which assumes significance within the wake of increasing circumstances of fatal viral illnesses like Nipah.
