VARANASI: The mortal stays of martyred squaddies Subedar Raman Thapa and Subedar Gaman Bahadur Thapa of 2/8 Gorkha Rifles had been consigned to flames with complete state honour at Manikarnika Ghat on Monday.
They attained martyrdom in go border firing in Keran sector of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir on December 21. Their mortal stays reached the city at 39 Gorkha Training Centre (GTC) in Cantonment house on Sunday night.
The mortal stays of martyrs had been stored at 39 GTC for paying homage on Monday. Besides, the 39 GTC body of workers and family members of the martyrs, the district magistrate and other officers paid tributes to the departed souls.
