Wall collapse after LPG blast kills one

THANE: A 55-year-old lady on a morning stroll died after a wall collapsed on her because of an explosion within a space in Panchpakhadi in Thane on Tuesday. The residents of the ground-plus-one storey space sustained burns.


The injured were known as Sandeep Kakde (40), Himanshu Kakde (12), Vandana Kakde (50) and her daughter Latika Kakde (35). The Kakdes are living at the floor floor. Officials stated an LPG leak brought about the explosion and the next wall collapse as well as fireplace. “There was a gasoline leak. It is most probably that a spark brought about the blast and fireplace. Someone should have attempted to gentle the gasoline or switch on some device,” stated Shashikant Kale, leader fireplace officer, Thane Municipal Corporation.


“The deceased, Kantibai Wankhade, had gone for a morning stroll and whilst returning she stopped at a common water pipeline to scrub her ft. This is when the explosion befell and the wall fell on her. She was rushed to Thane Civil Hospital and died all the way through remedy,” stated Santosh Kadam, leader of Regional Disaster Management Cell.


Doctors at Thane Civil Hospital stated Himanshu and Sandeep had suffered bruises on their arms and legs and were treated on the OPD. “Vandana and Latika were shifted to Airoli Burns Centre,” they stated.
