VADODARA: The civic woes of a number of areas at the outskirts of the city labelled as ‘outgrowth areas’ might end quickly. The areas that did not have any civic frame might quickly be brought beneath the limits of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC).
Chief minister Vijay Rupani, who was once within the city to commit a series of building works and lay basis stones of some others, announced that the limits of the civic frame could be greater to incorporate those outgrowth areas. This left the citizens there to fend for themselves.


The issue of outgrowth areas has been discussed since long and a public hobby litigation (PIL) was once additionally filed regarding them in Gujarat high courtroom. VMC had additionally sought that the outgrowth areas in Tarsali should be brought inside city limits in 2009. In June 2016 additionally, VMC had passed a solution to merge such areas, but no growth came about after that as the issue had remained pending with the state executive.
