GUWAHATI: Amid threats of withdrawal from the ruling alliance by Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, BJP's in control of Assam, Ram Madhav, on Saturday mentioned his birthday celebration favours continuation of the partnership in long term.

After a birthday celebration assembly with AGP chief Brindaban Goswami at the Tezpur circuit area, the BJP nationwide basic secretary mentioned, "BJP and AGP together fought the assembly elections in 2016. We are together in the state government now. We may have contested the panchayat elections separately but we are still partners. We are of the view that this partnership continues in the future too, But it hasto be mutually agreed upon."


Madhav's assembly with Goswami comes after state BJP president Ranjit Kumar Dass met birthday celebration president Amit Shah in New Delhi a few weeks in the past. Dass briefed Shah about the birthday celebration's just right performance in panchayat polls and likewise about the pressure in ties with AGP.
