Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City police have arrested two people who had been trying to promote a bronze idol and seized a panchaloha and a automobile valued at Rs 2.69 lakh from the accused.
According to police, the arrested are Subramanya Bhat, 45, a resident of Sullia and Nisar, 54, a resident of Kollam district in Kerala.
Police added that acting on a tip-off, that the duo had been attempting promote a bronze idol to a potential buyer, they conducted a raided close to the Football stadium close to Nehru Maidan, just lately, and arrested them along side the idol and automobile.
Nisar had acquire the idol from a shop in Mangaluru and used to be trying to promote it for a lot of money, by conning the buyer into believing that it used to be an antique idol. A case has been registered at the Mangaluru South police station.
