British woman rape case: One held

CHANDIGARH: Police on Monday arrested a 28-year-old guy in the British woman rape case. Farhanuz Zama, working as a hair stylist in a five-star hotel, was stuck from Kishangarh chowk. Zama, who hails from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, was dwelling in Mauli Jagran. Police stated groups had been deputed in UP and Delhi to arrest the accused.

The incident happened on December 20. Police stated the girl was staying in the hotel together with her male friend. The accused went absconding quickly after the incident.


In her grievance, the girl alleged the accused touched her private portions while giving her a foot therapeutic massage. She reported the topic to hotel officers and left for Shimla. The hotel sacked the accused. On December 25, the girl returned to the city and lodged a proper grievance at the IT Park police station the next day. She stated she was no longer mindful about the criminal procedure and after taking opinion from her buddies, she filed the grievance.


Police recorded her statement and conducted her scientific exam and in an instant sent the group of law enforcement officials to Uttar Pradesh to his local place. The accused additionally switched off his mobile phone quickly after the incident.


The woman came to the country on a tourist visa together with her male friend and each had been staying in the hotel for per week, law enforcement officials stated.


Harjit Kaur, DSP, east department, stated the girl was no longer raped and the accused touched her private portions while massaging her. Police, then again, registered a case against the accused under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC.
