NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday defended its action in Uttar Pradesh unlawful mining scam probe, in which Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav is beneath the scanner, pronouncing that former CM’s workplace had cleared 13 tasks in one day in violation of its personal order of e-tendering.

The company has come beneath the attack over its raids on Saturday and its plans to examine Akhilesh Yadav, with SP, BSP and Congress criticizing the move calling it an alliance between BJP and CBI.

CBI sources stated that Yadav held additional portfolio of mining ministry in UP in 2012-13 and gave 14 leasing approvals, with 13 cleared on February 17, 2013 by myself.

The accused IAS officer – B Chandrakala, who was once then district Justice of the Peace of Hamirpur, CBI sources upload, granted the leasing contracts after getting approval from the executive minister’s workplace in violation of its personal 2012 e-tender coverage. Eight different leasing contracts were granted by way of then mining minister Gayatri Prajapati, who took fee after Akhilesh Yadav.

This coverage, CBI says, was once ratified by way of the Allahabad High Court on January 29, 2013.

CBI sources maintained that they are going to read about the role of both the ministers, because the permissions got here from their workplace.

Akhilesh Yadav claimed on Sunday BJP was once using the CBI as a device for arm-twisting the opposition party leaders, a few of whom are seeking to forge an alliance in opposition to the ruling party.


“Now we need to tell the CBI as to how many seats we've got allotted within the gathbandhan (alliance). I'm happy that a minimum of the BJP has proven its colors. The company had carried raids at 14 places on Saturday in reference to its FIR in opposition to 11 people, together with Chandrakala, Samajwadi Party MLC Ramesh Kumar Mishra and Sanjay Dixit (who unsuccessfully contested the 2017 meeting election on a BSP price tag), to probe alleged unlawful mining of sweet sixteen minerals in Hamirpur district all over 2012-16.
