GUWAHATI: Youths and peasants of Assam staged nude protests in New Delhi and at Tinsukia in Assam against the Citizenship (modification) bill, 2016.
On the day when the JPC at the Bill submitted its report in Lok Sabha, several participants of the peasants' frame, Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), marched at the street resulting in Parliament and shouted slogans against the Centre’s transfer to desk the Bill in the Parliament. The protester have been arrested via the Parliament Street police.
Simultaneously, participants of Asom Yuba Chatra Parishad also staged a an identical nude protest against the Bill at Tinsukia in upper Assam.
All Assam Students Union and several organisations are staring at Monday as black day. The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO), the umbrella crew of student bodies of northeast has referred to as for a northeast bandh against the Bill on Tuesday.
