PARADIP/BHUBANESWAR: The death toll within the boat capsize incident within the Mahanadi river mounted to nine on Thursday as 8 more bodies have been recovered in Odisha's Kendrapara district, officials mentioned.
While the body of a lady used to be discovered shortly after the incident took place Wednesday night, 8 bodies have been recovered right through a search operation within the early hours of Thursday, they mentioned.
"Altogether nine bodies have been recovered, while one person is still missing," mentioned Kendrapara district Collector Dasarathy Satpathy.
Expressing deep grief, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Thursday announced ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh every for the following of kin of the deceased, an reliable in his office mentioned.
