RAJKOT: A complete of seven,104 bottles of Indian made overseas liquor (IMFL), worth Rs 22.79 lakh, were seized from a truck and its driving force arrested from Gondal bypass of Gondal taluka in Rajkot district on Thursday evening.
The driving force used to be known as Chandrashekhar Yadav (34), a resident of Tugarfata village of Vasai taluka of Palghar district in Maharashtra.
During his interrogation, Yadav mentioned that two Pratapgadh-based bootleggers in Uttar Pradesh, known as Ramshankar Yadav and Patil, had loaded his truck with IMFL bottles.
“Yadav used to be meant to make name to his handlers in UP after reaching somewhere between Gondal and Jetpur to find out the recipients of the liquor consignment,” mentioned M P Vala, sub-inspector of Rajkot speedy reaction cellular.
