MANGALURU: DK MP Nalin Kumar Kateel called on Union minister for transport and national highways (MoRTH) Nitin Gadkari at his reliable residence in New Delhi on Monday and had detailed discussion concerning the national highway projects touching on Dakshina Kannada district.
The minister directed the officers involved to take urgent action touching on following projects of importance to the district.
The projects mentioned come with dashing up B C Road-Addahole four-laning and concreting road undertaking. Nalin instructed Gadkari to make sure that the contractor – L & T - takes up the periodical repairs work for the time being. The minister directed the officers to make sure that the remaining work at the Talapady-Kundapura four-laning and Thokkottu-Pumpwell flyover by way of the concessionaire is completed inside February and opened for public use.
The MP also stressed at the need for the ministry to insist that the state executive initiates on the earliest process for land acquisition for Kulashekar-Karkala four-lane undertaking in addition to for the B C Road-Kateel-Mulki-Melkaru-Konaje-Thokkottu undertaking. The MP also demanded that the basis stone for this remaining discussed undertaking be laid on the earliest and a cut-off date fixed for the completion of mushy process and initiation of the work.
