UP: 7 crushed to death by truck of 'cattle smugglers' in Chandauli

VARANASI: At least seven individuals, together with two women and 3 kids, have been killed when a truck of alleged livestock smugglers ran over them after destructive their hut in Muldah village underneath Ilia police station near Bihar border in UP's Chandauli district on Tuesday morning.
Angered over their killing, villagers went on a rampage and staged huge demonstration via blocking the street. They held police responsible for the incident. Later, district Justice of the Peace NS Chahal and SP Santos Kumar Singh reached there.

SP Chandauli suspended SO Ilia and transferred inspector Chakia aside from recommending action towards CO Chakia. The DM announced instant financial help of Rs 5 lakh for every killed individual. Following it the villagers agreed to name off their stir and allowed the police to send the our bodies for autopsy.




According to villagers, some policemen have been chasing a cattle-laden truck which was heading to Bihar border. In the bid to flee, the truck motive force demolished a hut in which Ramkishun and his members of the family have been dozing. Seven of them came underneath the wheels of truck and died at the spot.




Later, the truck dived right into a field. On failing to taking the truck onto the street, smugglers fled the scene leaving the car abandoned.
