SURAT: About 450 textile dyeing and printing mills situated in the town and surrounding talukas of Surat district will probably be first in the country to put in force energy efficiency measures to promote extra cleaner and competitive MSME sector.
Ministry of MSME and South Gujarat Textile Processors’ Association (SGTPA) signed a memorandum of working out (MOU) for offering dedicated world-class generation support to put in force energy environment friendly and eco-friendly generation and modernization of the textile mills in Surat cluster on Thursday.
Industry sources stated the undertaking ‘selling market transformation for energy efficiency in MSME’, a joint initiative conceptualized through the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the place of work of the advance commissioner of MSME, will probably be carried out in Surat cluster quickly. The undertaking will provide energy and water conservation solutions for the textile mills, thereby saving about 15 in keeping with cent of water and energy requirement in the industry.”
Vakharia added, “The undertaking envisages changing the present equipment and kit in the textile mills, together with boilers, motors, drum dryers, screw compressors and so on. The mill owners should spend 20% of the cost of replacement of the machineries, wherein the remainder will probably be paid through the federal government beneath the undertaking.”
Vakharia stated regular audit will probably be carried out through the EESL of the member units periodically to gauge saving of energy, together with water and electrical energy. The saving through each and every of the mills will probably be refunded to them at the finish of the energy audit.
