Bihar: Now lodge plaint for rural roads' repair

PATNA: In Bihar, people can now resort a grievance for restore of his/ her village highway below the supply of the Bihar Right to Public Grievance Redressal Act, 2015.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday said the restore of rural roads would now be indexed as one of the vital services and products below the Bihar Right to Public Grievance Redressal Act-2015 (BRPGRA) and people can method their respective Public Grievance Redressal Officer (PGRO) for restore of rural roads and bridges inside stipulated period.


With this, Bihar would develop into the first state in the nation where people can resort bitch with a statutory officer for restore of rural roads. No different state to this point has a Bihar like Right to Public Grievance Redressal Act.


Addressing a serve as of rural works department (RWD) on the CM Secretariat here, Nitish said since Bihar executive has already offered a scheme for continuous upkeep and maintenance of rural roads, the street connecting villages must no longer stay in dangerous shape at any cost.


The CM said if any stretch of village highway is located in dangerous shape, any people can method the PGRO and document a formal grievance looking for redressal below the Act. The PGRO then can name the involved engineer of the RWD and ask him for restore of the street inside a stipulated period of providing such services and products.


The CM said such lawsuits, at the moment, would be filed on the workplace of the PGRO. Later, arrangements for receiving such lawsuits below the Act would be made at each Panchayat Sarkar Bhavan, which are already practical in one of the crucial decided on panchayats around the state. He said separate counters would be opened on the Panchayat Sarakar Bhavan for receiving lawsuits below the BRPGRA and the Bihar Right to Public Service Act (BRTPS).
