THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The town police on Wednesday arrested a five-member gang who had allegedly abducted a 23-year-old adolescence and his 19-year-old cousin.
The arrests of Muhammed Bilal, 23, Muhammed Aslam, 20, and Muhammed Yaseen, 19, of Bangladesh Colony close to Valiyathura and Abdul Rahman, 24, and Rahees, 21, of Kumarichantha close to Poonthura had been recorded at Vattiyoorkavu police station. They had allegedly abducted Imran Khan and Mohanas of Valiyathura.
Police stated the alleged crime came about close to Kachani on Sunday when Khan and Mohanas arrived there to attend a wedding. The kidnap was once a result of a monetary dispute between Bilal and Khan.
Vattiyoorkavu sub-inspector B Muraleekrishna stated Khan's good friend had rented a car belonging to Bilal's close relative. But they didn't go back the automobile on time but in addition mortgaged the automobile to safe Rs 1 lakh. The proprietor of the automobile received a notice from the moneylender challenging to pay Rs 1.40 lakh. Since then, the accused were ready to satisfy Khan.
On Sunday, the accused learned that Khan was once at Vattiyoorkavu and got here to satisfy him. They captured him in conjunction with Mohanas to take them to the moneylender in a bid to clear the confusion. Khan's father Nujumudeen alerted police.
But on their option to Sreekaryam they had been intercepted through police. Khan got out of the automobile but the gang fled with the car. They took safe haven in Tamil Nadu and police arrested them from Thampanoor railway station after they returned to town.
