VISAKHAPATNAM: J Srinivasa Rao, who’s the primary accused within the attack on YSR Congress chief and leader of opposition Jaganmohan Reddy, is crying for freedom, said Srinivas’ suggest Abdul Saleem.
It is also recalled that Jagan was once attacked through Srinivas with a knife within the VIP front room of the Vizag airport on October 25 last year. After his arrest, the accused has been under remand within the central prison at Rajahmundry. Advocate Saleem said on Wednesday morning he received a phone name from the Rajahmundry prison, where Srinivas asked him to use for his bail petition. “It seems Srinivas is in despair as he said he’s feeling frustrated in jail, residing in one cellular under the shut watch of two guards,” Saleem said.
“Though I had made up our minds to not report bail petition for Srinivas mentioning that his existence at risk and jail is the safest position for him somewhat than out of doors, now I have to switch my determination. I have made up our minds to move the bail petition within the NIA special court in Vijayawada either on Friday or Monday,” Saleem added.
Sources said the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is probing the attack on Jagan, introduced a couple of jeans and T-shirts to Srinivas as a goodwill gesture. The remand period of Srinivas will finish on Feb 8 but there are possibilities it may well be extended till Feb 22.
