GREATER NOIDA: The district administration plans to slap the stringent Gangster Act on any person found wearing out construction at the land notified for the Jewar airport challenge. The district Justice of the Peace has written a letter to Yamuna Authority CEO to spot such land grabbers and sign up FIRs against them.

BN Singh, the district Justice of the Peace, stated the administration has won knowledge that some people are considering illegally plotting the land earmarked for the airport challenge. “Yamuna Authority is best entitled to control any construction/construction in its notified area. If YEIDA makes identity of land grabbers and colonisers and files circumstances, we will slap Gangster Act at the accused,” he wrote.

The district Justice of the Peace, on the other hand, justified the transfer to stop a Shahberi like unauthorised colony in Jewar airport’s neighbourhood. “Shehaberi’s unauthorised colony mushroomed due to lack of enforcement. We don't need repetition of such incidents,” he told TOI.

“We have requested the Yamuna Authority to ensure the advance and construction activities in all its notified villages are as according to its law and construction bylaws. Strict motion is needed to prevent any unauthorised colony from developing,” the DM added.

But this could put land losers in trouble as a few of them have continued construction paintings on their premises.


Thakur Rakesh Singh, vp of Jewar Kisan Sangharsh Samiti, stated the farmers were hard 4 times compensation and all other benefits underneath the Land Acquisition Act, 2013. “Some farmers are themselves setting up and reparing their homes. Some builders have additionally started land plotting in neighbouring villages because the land prices will shoot up with the airport challenge,” he stated.


The district administration is likely to get started land acquisition for Jewar international airport from February 21.
