AMBALA: Lightning strike claimed the life of a 53-year-old guy identified as Rahat Singh and his cattle at village Badhouli in Naraingarh block of the district. The incident took place in the outskirts of the village when Rahat at the side of his bullock cart was once coming back from the agricultural fields after bringing fodder for the farm animals.
As according to the tips, Rahat and his cattle died on the spot at around 1.45 pm in the afternoon on Thursday.
Some of the villagers who witnessed the incident said that there was once a blast which they have got never heard prior to.
After receiving the tips, the district police reached the spot and located Rahat and his cattle useless at the spot.
Rahat was once unmarried and he lived together with his elder brother and circle of relatives in the village Badhouli.
Krishan Kumar, Panch of the village informed that Rahat used to maintain his farm animals as the circle of relatives owns just about 10 cattle. As according to his day-to-day regimen, he was once coming from the fields with green fodder when he got struck by means of the lightning in the afternoon.
Dr Mayank from the health department said, "In case of a lightning strike the rhythm of the heart is disrupted and it stops working leading to the death. In some cases, the victims survive with injuries as well."
Naraingarh SHO, sub-inspector Chander Bhan said, "We rushed our team to the spot and it is a case of lightning hit which struck Rahat and his cattle in the afternoon. Both Rahat and his cattle died on the spot. We have taken his body to the clinic for scientific exam.”
