MUMBAI: Railways will give up round 45 acres of land to the Maharashtra executive for the Dharavi redevelopment venture on a 99-year hire.

The deal was reached on February 24 all over a gathering between Railway minister Piyush Goyal and chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The state executive had sought round 107 acres of land, but the railways made available 45 acres handiest.


Railway minister Piyush Goyal, making the announcement on Monday, stated the agreement reached between the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) and Dharavi Development Authority (DDA) was at hand over 45 acres of “surplus” land to the latter for redevelopment.” The resolution will give the venture momentum and “assist transform the lives of lakhs of Dharavi residents,” he added.


Under the Dharavi redevelopment plan, a unique goal car will likely be set up by way of the profitable bidder and the state in a 80:20 ratio. Global tenders had been floated in November 2018, inviting investments from private construction companies. DDA had set Rs 3,150 crore as base price.


Dubai-based Seclink Technology Corporation is the frontrunner as it has quoted Rs 7,500 crore while Adani Infrastructure had quoted Rs four,529 crore. Sources stated the state cupboard has withheld popularity of the a hit bidder for the Dharavi redevelopment venture as it wanted the railway deal to materialise first.


On Monday too, railway and slum rehabilitation authority officers had a gathering to arrange the draft of the MoU, to name for land measurements, and so forth.
