JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Roadways has mooted the theory of plying battery operated super deluxe buses on the Delhi-Jaipur route to triumph over the Supreme Court order, which had banned state roadways buses operating from the Bikaner House on grounds of making pollution.
At present the Rajasthan Roadways buses perform from Delhi’s Kashmiri Gate inter-state bus terminal (ISBT). The shift from Bikaner House to Kashmiri Gate has adversely affected the state roadways super luxurious bus products and services which used to be once common some of the passengers. Suchi Sharma, managing director of the Roadways stated, “State Roadways is thinking about this feature. However, it's in its preliminary level.” Sources stated some corporations have given presentation and the money strapped Roadways had sought the finance department for cash to procure the buses.
The electric buses recently to be had may just run simplest 200km with one charge and the Roadways needed to charge the battery midway to totally perform the automobile or it might workout the choice of duel gasoline era wherein the buses may just switch to battery in the NCR and switch to diesel for rest of the route.
Sources stated after the Roadways super deluxe bus depot has been shifted to Kashmiri Gate that they had suffered closely relating to industry. Kalyan Sahay Meena, manager deluxe depot stated, “We have lost about 30% industry on Delhi-Jaipur route after the depot used to be shifted to Kashmiri Gate as the burden factor has reduced greatly.”
He added, “Earlier we used to cover the gap by way of 5 and half hours now it had greater to over seven hours. The passengers keep away from the Kashmiri gate area due to heavy pollution and congestion.”
In its order on March 26, Supreme Court had ordered that the buses plying from Bikaner House will prevent from May 1 final year. Though the Roadways argued that Bikaner House isn't a bus stand but simply a pickup level for the passengers, they couldn’t make the Supreme Court to loosen up its determination.
