MOHALI: A Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader died after the SUV he was travelling in grew to become turtle following a tyre burst on Chandigarh-Ambala highway, near Lalru, on Thursday night time. The crash claimed the lifetime of a biker, too, and left two others — the SAD leader’s spouse and driver — injured round four.30pm.
Police said Mohali (city) district president Baljeet Singh Kumbra, 65, was going to Shahabad, Haryana, to perform the closing rites of a relative.
