Shah to launch BJP campaign from UP village

LUCKNOW: BJP will kick off its party campaign, 'Kamal Deep Abhiyan' in the state on Tuesday during which party staff would remove darkness from just about 2 crore earthen lamps in the properties of beneficiaries of more than a few executive schemes.

BJP resources said that the national campaign will be introduced from Gauratha, a village of Ghazipur district, that got electrified remaining year below Centre's flagship rural electrification scheme, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana via BJP leader Amit Shah.

Shah will succeed in Garautha village, which is surrounded via rivers from 3 aspects, via a boat at around 5pm and dangle a public meeting ahead of lighting fixtures up a lamp in a space. Shah will be accompanied via Union minister Manoj Sinha, who is MP from Ghazipur.

Sinha's representative in Ghazipur, Sunil Singh said that all of the arrangements for the programme were finished. He said that there are just about 300 households in the village out of which around 200 were given electricity connection.

BJP's determination to kick off the Kamal Deep Abhiyan from Ghazipur is being seen as the party's bid to stay the political warmth up in east UP.


"Launching the scheme from east UP is important since it remained economically and socially most backward region and our government has focused on its development," said UP BJP spokesperson Navin Srivastava.


UP leader minister Yogi Adityanath will lead the campaign in Lucknow while UP BJP president Mahendra Nath Pandey will attend the development in Bijnor.


All BJP MLAs and MPs will take part in the campaign in their respective constituencies.


Party resources said that all district presidents were asked to achieve out to the beneficiaries of schemes like Ujjwala (envisaging unfastened fuel connection), Saubhagya (unfastened electricity connection) and PM Awas Yojana.
