MOHALI: The district police have arrested two history-sheeters for looting a wine store in Shahimajra village four day in the past. One in their accomplices is still on the run. Cops said that in addition they seized a 0.32 bore pistol, four bullets, 10,000 cash and a motorbike from the possession of the accused.
"The arrested accused are already booked under many cases in Mohali and Chandigarh. While one of the accused is convicted of a murder, another is a proclaimed offender," police officials said.
The arrested accused had been identified as Mukesh Kumar of Sector 56 and Rakesh Kumar of Shahimajra village in Mohali.
On Sunday night, 3 miscreants robbed a wine store at a gunpoint in Shahimajra village in Phase I. They walked into the liquor vend at 10.30pm, fired within the air, took Rs 10,000 and some liquor bottles and fled the spot. A bullet shell was once additionally recovered from the crime scene.

"After snatching thepistol, they robbed a wine shop on March 3 and fled to Chandigarh. After probing various aspects, we arrested them from Phase I," said Mohali SSP Harharan Singh Bhullar.
The cop added that the arrested accused had been history-sheeters. "As many as six cases of theft are registered against Mukesh. He has been declared proclaimed offender in two cases. Besides, a case of murder and another under the NDPS Act has been registered against Rakesh," the cop said.
Rakesh was once convicted in a murder case in 2007. He was once out from jail on parole. The accused had been produced earlier than a courtroom, which remanded them in custody for 5 days.
