AMBALA: Police have booked a case towards a man for allegedly threatening a lady of rape and kidnapping on social media platform Instagram.
The guy, recognized as Akash Soni, has been booked under Section 67-A (punishment for publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually specific act, and so forth., in electronic shape) of the Information Technology (IT) Act and 506 (punishment for felony intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
In her complaint, the lady alleged that the accused has been making faux accounts in her identify and importing her pictures in the ones accounts for the previous 3 days.
“For the previous three days, somebody is making faux IDs in my identify with my edited photos on Instagram. The individual is giving rape and kidnapping threats. I'm feeling very careworn. The individual is modifying my pictures and claiming that he would misuse pictures if I do not settle for his terms,” the complainant said in her FIR.
“After receiving the tips with the help of the cyber staff, the accused has been recognized as a resident of Ambala Cantonment space. We are looking to arrest him and he can be taken into custody very soon. Further action can be taken as in step with legislation,” Maheshnagar SHO Ajaib Singh said.
