NEW DELHI: Jet Airways pilots’ union has asked State Bank of India chairman Rajnish Kumar, noticed as the airline’s new father or mother angel, to make sure that their salaries don't seem to be delayed to any extent further. The airline’s pilots, at the side of plane upkeep engineers (AMEs) and senior management have salary dues of almost four months now. The National Aviators Guild (NAG), union of pilots, had threatened the previous management that it might prevent flying from April 1. But now with a brand new meantime gadget in place, they see hope that Jet will steer clear of a Kingfisher-like destiny.
“Your soothing words on a TV channel praising the pilots for his or her loyalty and willpower and assuring them that our efforts won't go waste are deeply appreciated by means of all of the group. Your kind words display that the hardships we, and our fellow AMEs, have undergone have no longer long gone in useless. Despite the severe monetary difficulties and uncertainty over our future that a large number of our colleagues had been going through over the past few months, the pilots have no longer wavered,” NAG basic secretary captain Tej Sood said within the letter to Kumar.
“It is our humble request to you to alleviate one of the crucial hardships that we and the AMEs had been going through by means of making sure that the Jet Airways management does no longer further extend the release of our pending salaries and clears our dues at the earliest. We would even be grateful if you should spare us some time.. to offer us an concept of the roadmap to recovery. This will lend a hand us in rebuilding self assurance among our pilots and reassuring them that the uncertainty is behind us. We guarantee you, and all different stakeholders, of our persevered fortify. The pilots stay committed to the airline and would depart no stone unturned to make sure that our airline returns to its former glory,” Sood says.
NAG represents about 1,100 Jet Airways pilots.
