NEW DELHI: The mega ballot sop of offering Rs 72,000 each and every yearly to five crore families belonging to the poorest class via Congress president Rahul Gandhi can be played up via the party's Delhi unit thru "aay pe charcha (dialogue on income) meetings in the run as much as the Lok Sabha polls.
Delhi Congress president Sheila Dikshit termed the announcement as an "extraordinary step" and said she was getting congratulatory phone calls from people who are appreciating the sop "vastly".
"This is an extraordinary step which will get advantages the people beneath the poverty line in the country. It is the primary time that the sort of step has been taken on the planet," she informed newshounds.
In a big-bang ballot promise, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday introduced that Rs 72,000 according to 12 months can be given as minimum income to deficient families, benefiting round 25 crore folks, if his party is voted to power in Lok Sabha polls, and asserted it will be the “final attack” on poverty.
Gandhi had said 20 according to cent or 5 crore families belonging to the poorest class with per thirty days income lower than Rs 12,000 would come under the scheme.
Dikshit said it's bizarre that the BJP government which has coined "hollow" slogans equivalent to 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' and 'Achhe Din Ayenge' is now opposing Rahul Gandhi's announcement.
Dikshit said Congress will put into effect the scheme for five crore deficient families in the country after it paperwork the following government in the country.
"The formalities (of the scheme) can be labored out after Congress paperwork the federal government and implements it," she said.
Delhi Congress working president Haroon Yusuf said the "aay pe charcha" (discussion on income) meetings will be held across the city from April 1 to apprise people about the "historic" transfer via party president Rahul Gandhi.
"These meetings can be held with the assistance of party workers on the district and block stage by which folks can be informed how they'll take pleasure in the announcement, if Congress wins the Lok Sabha polls," Yusuf said.

"What took place to their (AAP) promises like installing CCTV cameras around the town," Lilothia said.
