GA allots 31 pending seats to partners

PATNA: Grand Alliance (GA) in Bihar on Friday announced allocation of 31 seats for the Lok Sabha elections, putting an finish to confusion and war between Congress and RJD. Former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar (Congress) will contest from Sasaram (SC) and RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s daughter Misa Bharti from Pataliputra. Patna Sahib has been allocated to Congress, paving means for BJP riot MP Shatrughan Sinha to contest towards Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. Sharad Yadav can be RJD nominee from Madhepura whilst Lalu’s ‘samadhi’ Chandrika Rai has been fielded from Saran & Tariq Anwar (Congress) from Katihar. Candidate yet to be made up our minds for eight seats includes Valmikinagar where Darbhanga MP Kirti Azad may well be shifted as a Congress nominee.

Nine out of the total 40 constituencies and their applicants for the first two levels had been announced earlier. Election for the 31 seats shall be held within the closing five levels from April 23 to May 19.

Addressing a joint press convention in a lodge right here, RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav did not announce candidate for 8 seats — Paschimi Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Ujiarpur, Karakat (all RLSP), Valmikinagar, Patna Sahib (Congress) Madhubani (VIP) and Sheohar (RJD). Lalu’s son Tej Pratap Yadav is demanding Sheohar seat for one Angesh Singh.

Tejashwi also stated RJD has left Ara from its quota for the CPI(ML) as a “gesture of goodwill” for the reason that party (ML) at all times “fights for the cause of poor”. He stated the RLSP applicants can be later announced by way of its national president Upendra Kushwaha, who was once no longer present because of his pre-occupation at a district courtroom.

Besides Sharad, some other energetic leader of his Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD), Arjun Rai, has been fielded from Sitamarhi. RLSP’s Ram Kumar Sharma had gained the seat in 2014 election. It isn't transparent whether RLSP will shift Sharma or drop him.

Lalu’s ‘samadhi’ Chandrika Rai shall be RJD candidate from Saran towards the wishes of RJD chief’s elder son Tej Pratap, whose divorce petition towards wife Aishwarya Rai is pending in a Patna family courtroom.

Other prominent RJD applicants come with former Union ministers Raghuvansh Prasad Singh (Vaishali) and Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav (Banka), jailed don Shahubuddin’s wife Hena Shahab from their traditional seat Siwan, former state ministers Jagdanand Singh (Buxar) and Abdul Bari Siddiqui (Darbhanga).

Kirti Azad, who lately left BJP and joined Congress, sought after to contest from Darbhanga, but the seat was once allotted to RJD. Kirti might be shifted to Valmikinagar which has gone to Congress quota of nine seats in Bihar.

HAM(S) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) president Mukesh Sahni, Congress leader Narendra Kumar and RLSP’s Satyanand Prasad Dangi had been present on the press convention where Tejashwi learn out the names of 18 out of total 19 applicants of RJD, seven of Congress, 3 of HAM(S) and two each and every of RLSP and VIP.
