Gandhinagar Park to get sturdier compound wall

Mangaluru: Gandhinagar Park, one of the most largest lung spaces in residential areas of town at Gandhinagar close to Mannagudda is all set to get a sturdier compound wall. Area corporator Jayanthi Achar performed the ground breaking rite for the compound wall in the presence of Mangaluru City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath on Thursday. The paintings will probably be executed at an estimated value of Rs 15.7 lakh, MLA Kamath stated.

Noting that Gandhinagar Park is a popular hang-out for walkers and joggers and the perfect place for senior electorate to stretch their legs, the MLA stated he has gained requests from more than a few quarters for the full construction of the park, together with reconstructing the compound wall that is in a dilapidated state. The requests gained will probably be acted on in a phased means, he stated, adding reconstructing the compound wall is a start.


After the general election, paintings of white-topping the stretch of road from Mannagudda Gurji to Urwa Market junction will probably be taken up at a price of Rs three crore, the MLA stated, adding the concrete road will probably be of a width of seven metres. Stating that essential approvals had been gained for this challenge, the MLA stated the soft process will probably be taken up once the election is over.
