THANE: The half-burnt frame of a woman was present in Padle village of Daighar with injury marks on her neck and other portions, suggesting she was murdered. Police said she was elderly 18-25.
A villager tipped off police about the frame mendacity within the fields of Vetalpada, behind a housing society, beneath mysterious cases, at 10.30am on Wednesday. Police said some individuals had murdered the girl and burnt her frame to smash proof. "She had a green kurta and red pyjama, which was also burnt," said the police officer.
The frame has been despatched for post-mortem to the federal government clinic and local police are probing the crime. Daighar police registered a case of murder and destruction of proof beneath sections 302 and 201 of IPC. Nishikant Karlikar
