THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 43-year-old homemaker succumbed to stab accidents allegedly inflicted via her husband at Melathumele underneath Vattiyoorkavu police station limits on Tuesday evening during a home dispute. The deceased has been identified as Rajani, wife of Sreekumar of Malayinkeezh. The police have taken Sreekumar into custody following the incident.
Rajani’s oldsters, Krishnan (72) and Ramadevi (68) too have been attacked via the accused and so they have been admitted to Medical College Hospital with serious accidents.
According to the police, the crime happened round 6.15 pm at Rajani’s place of dwelling situated in Maelathumele.
"Sreekumar and Rajani had been living separately for the past few months," stated a police officer attached to Vattiyoorkavu police station. On Tuesday evening, he reached Rajani’s place of dwelling and started a quarrel. It is suspected that he came pre-planned with an aim to harm his wife as he had introduced along the weapon that he used to stab Rajani and her oldsters.
Rajani suffered stab accidents on her neck and chest. Krishnan and Ramadevi have been also stabbed on chest. Both of them are but to come back out of risk, the police stated quoting hospital sources.
The police officers additional stated that Sreekumar was hooked on alcohol. A couple of years in the past, Rajani admitted him to a de-addiction centre with the help of both families and later helped him secure a job in a Gulf nation. However, he returned from Gulf quickly and went back to his old way of life, following which Rajani left him.
The couple has two youngsters, a daughter and a son.
