KOCHI: MG University has suspended a girl college, a valuation camp officer and a primary examiner from exam-related duties after a suite of 39 resolution sheets of BSc Biotechnology third semester examination - hung on December 12, 2018 - used to be found within the vicinity of a visitors signal near Thottakkattukara in Aluva.
MGU vice-chancellor Sabu Thomas said that the college has taken the problem critically and a three-member committee has been appointed to probe the incident. The committee has syndicate examination subcommittee convener R Pragash and syndicate individuals Tomichan Joseph and A Jose as individuals. They have been requested to publish a file inside two days.
The evaluated resolution sheets were noticed by means of auto drivers near the national highway in Thottakkattukara round 3pm. "These were evaluated answer sheets of the exam held on December 12. We soon informed the police and handed over the answer sheets to them. The answer sheets had the name of the faculty who evaluated them," said Jerome Michael, works standing committee chairman of Aluva municipality.
According to officers, the solution sheets would have been misplaced whilst they were being transported. "I made enquiries and found that the person who lost the answer sheets is an excellent faculty member. This is unfortunate," said the vice-chancellor.
MG University has a machine were resolution sheets are valuated centrally and supplied to faculty individuals for analysis at house.
The varsity had stopped house analysis in 2016 once they found that it didn't match the criteria of analysis at centralized camps. "The semester exams were held late because of the floods and we had very little time to complete valuation. There was a centralized valuation camp on 7th and 8th of this month at Union Christian college and only those answer sheets that were not evaluated were given for home evaluation," said Pragash.
There are round 3.5 lakh papers to be valued and we had to complete the process ahead of elections, he said.
