PATIALA: The police have registered a case of negligence in opposition to a city-based gynecologist after a pregnant girl died on alleged refusal of treatment. The complainant, Rinku, instructed police officers that he and his spouse used to discuss with Dr Ashu Gupta steadily when his spouse used to be pregnant.
“I approached the doctor with my spouse in September 2017 when Punjab used to be going through curfew all through dera violence. My spouse used to be in numerous ache, so I asked the doctor to diagnose my spouse as she used to be nearing her supply date,” Rinku said.

Replying to my requests, the doctor said, I'd wish to get written permission from Government Rajendra Hospital if I sought after her to accomplish surgical operation. There used to be no point in wasting any more time. Hence, I took my spouse to Rajendra Hospital. Doctors there performed supply and published that my child had died within the mom’s womb two days in the past,” the complainant instructed police officers.
“The docs there got shocked when I instructed them about Dr Gupta. They said, how can she claim anymore time in supply when the foetus used to be already dead within the womb. My spouse had to be shifted to ICU. She succumbed five days after her supply. Had the doctor executed a radical checkup, my spouse would not have died,” Rinku instructed the TOI.
After the complaint used to be filed, an investigation used to be marked into the topic. A fourmember panel of health division used to be formed to investigate the topic. Now that the inquiry is over, and the doctor has been discovered on wrong foot, a case has been registered in opposition to her. The complete procedure has taken one-and-a-half year.
“The statements of the accused doctor and the complainant had been recorded. The doctor is but to be arrested,” said the investigation officer of the case.
