Coimbatore: Failing to make any headway in relation to rape and murder of the minor woman, whose body was found close to her space at Pannimadai on Tuesday, the agricultural police have introduced a reward for those who supply details about the incident.
Police groups on Thursday allotted handbills in different places that said that those who provided data in regards to the case can be rewarded and their identification can be kept secret.
After the woman’s mother expressed suspicion in regards to the involvement of a neighbour, a goods autorickshaw motive force, in the crime, Thudiyalur police wondered the person. “He said he was consuming with friends and enjoying cricket. We verified the tower location details of his mobile phone and may just not to find any evidence of his involvement in the murder,” a police officer said.
Meanwhile, police have picked up 5 extra other people, together with a faculty student and the woman’s grandfather, for questioning. Police superintendent R Pandiarajan and deputy superintendent Mani are interrogating them.
The case has been transferred to the All Women police, Thudiyalur from Thadagam police station. Police have registered a case underneath sections 302, 376 (A) of Indian Penal Code and sections five (I), five (m) read with 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
