Three BJP nominees in Arunachal win unopposed

Itanagar: The BJP in Arunachal Pradesh has opened its account with three applicants being declared unopposed winners within the 60-member meeting after the overall date of withdrawal of candidature on Thursday.
The state is going to simultaneous Lok Sabha and meeting polls on April 11.

While BJP nominee Kento Jini gained from Aalo East meeting constituency after the nomination papers of his lone rival Minkir Lollen of Congress had been discovered invalid right through scrutiny on Tuesday, some other BJP candidate has been elected unopposed from Yachuli seat.

BJP candidate from Dirang seat Phurpa Tsering, too, used to be elected unopposed after Congress nominee Tsering Gyurme and Independent candidate Gombu Tsering withdrew their papers on Thursday, further leader electoral officer Kangki Darang told journalists here.

With the withdrawal of nominations via 20 applicants until Thursday, a complete of 191 applicants remained within the fray to contest in 57 meeting constituencies of the state.

The ruling BJP has now 57 applicants whilst opposition Congress would contest in 47 seats. National People’s Party (NPP) would contest in 30 constituencies, Janata Dal Secular (13), Janata Dal United (17) and the Al India Party (AIP) has fielded a unmarried candidate.

There also are 17 Independents within the fray for the meeting polls. Altogether 10 ladies applicants also are within the fray for the meeting polls with Congress fielding the perfect quantity (4), BJP (three) and one each and every via JDU and Peoples’ Party of Arunachal (PPA) and a lone Independent, stated Darang.


The unreserved seat of Bordumsa-Diyun has 10 applicants locking horns to win the combat of ballots.


A total of 12 applicants, together with one lady, are within the fray for the two Lok Sabha seats within the state.


In the West parliamentary seat, there are seven applicants and 5 within the East seat. A total of 7, 94, 162 voters, together with 4, 01, 601 ladies, would exercise their franchise within the April 11 simultaneous polls in 2,202 polling stations spread across the state.
