LUDHIANA: An 18-year-old mentally challenged lady used to be allegedly gang-raped by way of three masked men within her area on Monday morning.
The lady's parents had long past to work in conjunction with their younger son when the three accused barged into their area.
The accused, who reportedly came on a motorbike, raped the girl and fled form spot. The neighbours came to understand about the incident after listening to lady's cries and informed her parents.
When her parents returned home, the girl narrated her ordeal following which they informed the police within the afternoon.
Assistant commissioner of police Harjinder Singh stated that lady's parents work in a manufacturing unit and they additionally take their younger son in conjunction with them. The lady stays at home on my own. The lady has said that when she used to be in the home, three men who had covered their face with a handkerchief, barged into the home. They raped her and fled from the spot.
"The police on receiving compliant have immediately lodged an FIR under section of 376-D (gang-rape) of the IPC. Meanwhile the girl has been taken to Civil Hospital for medical examination. The police are scanning the CCTVs installed near the locality to trace the accused," the ACP added.
