VISAKHAPATNAM: The district collector of Visakhapatnam, Ok Bhaskar, announced that the Visakhapatnam district crowned the checklist in terms of collection of new citizens enlisted.
The collector made the observation while saying the checklist of overall citizens in the district, here on Monday, sooner or later before the candidate nomination length starts.
Addressing the media, the collector pointed that the overall collection of citizens in the district quantity 34,61,217 while the collection of new citizens enlisted was 1,86,189.
Regarding the time table of the general election, the collector stated, "The last date for nominations was March 25, while the last date for withdrawal of candidates being March 28. The polls will be held on April 11, from 7am to 6am in all the assembly constituencies other than Araku Valley and Pderu constituency, where the elections would be held from 7am to 4pm."
The collector further observed that a overall 32,000 officials would be involved in the elections in the district apart from 10,000 police team of workers, manning the 4,000 cubicles plus additional safety.
Regarding training to all of the election group of workers, the collector added that they have all been trained and a ridicule vote casting drill was also conducted.
Regarding the collection of Form-7 applications received the collector announced that the overall quantity was 70,000 out of which 80% were rejected.
