Voters in thirties to play key role in polls

Varanasi: The 30-39 age organization would possibly play the function of game-changer in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency Varanasi and parts of Chandauli and Machhali Shahar parliamentary constituencies within the Lak Sabha polls.
According to the age-group sensible checklist of electoral roll, Varanasi district has best possible 7,71,658 citizens in 30-39 age organization followed by means of 6,74,517 in 20-29 and 5,94,683 in 40-49. The selection of citizens below 50 could be 20,69,237 out of 28,39,203, if citizens of 18-19 age organization (28,352) are added.

Varanasi district is composed of five assembly segments of Varanasi parliamentary constituency — Rohaniya, Varanasi North, Varanasi South, Varanasi Cantt and Sevapuri, two assembly segments of Chandauli parliamentary constituency — Ajgara and Shivpur — and Pindra assembly section of Machhali Shahar parliamentary constituency.

According to the final draft of electoral roll (January 1, 2019), there are 3,91,655 citizens in 50-59 age organization, 2,35,957 in 60-69 and 1,08,425 in 70-79. Only 33,956 citizens are above 80 years of age within the district.


Among the first-time citizens in 18-19 age organization, 15,237 belong to five assembly segments of Varanasi parliamentary constituency, 8,893 to 2 assembly segments of Chandauli parliamentary constituency and four,222 to Pindra assembly section of Machhali Shahar parliamentary constituency.


Out of 17,96,930 citizens in Varanasi parliamentary constituency, 9,95,263 are men, 8,01,563 ladies and 104 others. The Varanasi Cantt assembly section of Varanasi parliamentary constituency has most four,11,569 citizens followed by means of Varanasi North (3,90,243), Rohaniya (3,83,067), Sevapuri (3,27,643) and Varanasi South (2,84,408). Besides, Varanasi seat also has 1,936 service citizens.


According to district election officer Surendra Singh, the district has a total of one,136 polling centres with 2,920 polling booths for smooth and fair polling. For Varanasi parliamentary seat, polling could be held at 1,819 polling booths in 587 polling centres. Polling shall be held at 722 polling booths in 365 polling centres in Ajgara and Shivpur assembly segments of Chandauli seat and at 379 polling booths in 184 centres in Pindra assembly section of Machhali Shahar parliamentary seat.
