Two girls, who picked up percussion mallets and the dhol tasha throughout their faculty days, are now the one woman individuals of the 14-member band of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Pune.
Police constables Meenakshi Chavan and Poonam Musale, who play the clarinet, joined as band individuals in 2017, after the state police division allowed their recruitment. They are the one qualified police band individuals in Pune and the adjacent districts.
Chavan stated her liking for musical tools started throughout her faculty days. “I really like tune and started taking part in the dhol-tasha throughout my faculty days in Baramati. My parents are farmers and I studied in the native faculty. As a school student, I developed a liking for drums. I requested my academics to permit me to play them. I started taking part in drums for varsity prayers and annual occasions. I then started finding out the clarinet,” Chavan stated.
Chavan finished her BA and joined the state police drive as a constable. She then underwent a six-month coaching at the State Reserve Police Force police band.
Musale stated,“ I become a part of the Zilla Parishad faculty’s band and started taking part in different tools. To acquire some experience, I joined categories in Baramati, where I discovered to play the clarinet and other tools. I'm concentrating on finding out the saxophone.”
