BENGALURU: Two day-to-day wage labourers snoozing in an outdated vacant area at Bodahnahosahalli village near Hoskote died after a sand-laden truck rammed the development, leading to a portion of the entrance wall collapsing on them within the small hours of Saturday.
The deceased, Raghu N, 25, and Manjappa, 50, both were both residents of Bodhanahosahalli.
Pointing out that the incident happened around 2am, police said the truck was heading in opposition to Hoskote. The outdated development was vacant for 6 months after its proprietor Shambappa and his family shifted to their newly constructed area.
“Raghu, Manjappa and others used to birthday party within the development at night and the duo would ceaselessly keep again there afterwards,” said police, including that the truck driving force lost control of the car at the curve near the house. The truck driving force fled and police have seized the car.
Two labourers were killed due to mud collapse in Pulakeshinagar, east Bengaluru, on Saturday night. Shafiq and Sudarshan, both in their past due 20s, were establishing a wall along a stormwater drain — the paintings were undertaken via the BBMP — when the incident happened. The bodies were recovered at 9pm and sent to Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital.
“As of now, we can ascertain two deaths. Three individuals injured within the incident were rescued,” said Rahulkumar Shahapurwad, DCP (east).
