BICHOLIM: Bicholim the town and surrounding spaces confronted acute water shortage on Tuesday after the main water pipeline burst.
The primary pipeline in the back of Zantye College, Bicholim, ruptured owing to heavy force on account of which masses of litres of water used to be wasted. This led to Bicholim the town working dry during the day. Locals had been left within the lurch with some having to hotel to drawing water from outdated wells.
Areas like Sonar Peth, Bordem, Bhaili Peth, Pazwada, Bandarwada, Gaonkarwada, Vathadev, Sarvan, housing board, and Karapur had been badly hit. “We needed to face inconvenience due to the shortage of water during the day because it affected our day by day routine,” said homemaker Gauri Chodankar.
PWD assistant engineer Vasudev Parab showed that the water shortage used to be due to the burst pipeline in the back of Zantye faculty. “Repair works are being carried out on a struggle footing,” he said, anticipating water provide to resume overdue Tuesday evening.
