THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a suspected case of homicide, the Parassala police on Tuesday found the frame of a 43-year-old man in a gunny bag buried close to a coconut tree at the premises of his good friend's area. Vinu, a daily wages employee, residing at Arayoor close to Harvipuram close to Parassala is the deceased. The police have launched a hunt for his good friend Shaji.
Parassala police station area officer inspector Okay S Vijayan mentioned that the homicide is suspected to be the aftermath of a drunken brawl. It is suspected that Vinu and Shaji ate up alcohol in the latter's residence and fought over some issue, resulting in the homicide.
"We launched a probe after we received a complaint from Vinu's brother that he was missing since Saturday," mentioned Inspector Vijayan. Police reached Shaji's residence round a kilometre away from Vinu's residence after learning that that they had the dependancy of ingesting liquor in combination there. Shaji's neighbours too mentioned that they heard the sounds of a brawl from the home on Saturday evening.
"The liquor bottles, glasses and food remains were still there in the house. There were blood stains on the floor. The body was recovered after police followed the blood trail," the Inspector mentioned.
Vinu was a bachelor. Shaji was married and had been dwelling in his wife's area close to Pallichal and his area at Arayoor remained uninhabited, the place he used to hold booze parties.
