CID team in Raichur to probe student’s death

BENGALURU: A CID workforce led via DySP Ravishankar arrived in Raichur to analyze the dying of a 23-year-old woman engineering student.


The burnt body of the student, who had gone missing on April 13, was found placing from a tree in a farm in Raichur district on April 16. Following huge protests via scholars, the federal government handed over the case to CID on Saturday.


According to police, the lady attended her school on April 13 morning however was not observed later. While her parents did manner police to document a complaint the similar day, the police officers allegedly did not check in a case since she was not a minor. The girl was a sixth semester student of Navodaya Institute of Technology, Raichur. The CID workforce on Sunday visited the school in addition to the spot the place her body was found. SD Sharanappa, SP, CID, is becoming a member of the probe on Monday.


Acting on the parents’ complaint, Netaji Nagar police station in Raichur arrested the lady’s collegemate, Sudarshan Yadav. He was allegedly stalking her and pestering her to begin a dating with him. After her body was found, police registered a case of suspicious dying and in the wake of protests, added rape and homicide charges. “Sudarshan raped our daughter between 11am on April 13 and 5pm, April 15. Later, he killed her and burnt her,” her parents alleged.


A commonplace pal is believed to have taken the lady to Sudarshan. Though a suicide word purportedly found subsequent to the lady’s body blamed academic failure for her taking the intense step, parents dismissed it saying their daughter had performed smartly in her tests.
