VADODARA: The district election equipment has started last-minute preparations ahead of the Lok Sabha elections that can be held on Tuesday.
With Sunday being the last day for campaigning, political parties too reached out to voters thru SMS and social media teams.
The district election officials alternatively started dispatching wheelchairs, tricycles and different fabrics for the disabled people to be sure that they can also participate in the election procedure with ease.
Vadodara district collector and election officer Shalini Agrawal along side observers Naveen Raj Singh and Sharmistha Maitra supervised the preparations being made for the disabled voters.
According to officials, preparations had been made for 270 wheelchairs and tricycles for the disabled voters while steering has been provided to 450 volunteers who will lend a hand such voters on the polling cubicles.
The disabled people won’t have to face in queues at the polling day. Also, for the blind voters, braille papers can be saved at the ones polling cubicles where their names had been flagged in the electoral roll.
The Congress alternatively has demanded that the entire polling cubicles in Waghodiya must be marked as most delicate taking into account the hot risk issued through BJP MLA Madhu Srivastava.
In a representation prior to district election officials, the Congress leaders remarked that since the officials have not taken any strong motion in opposition to the MLA, the elections on Tuesday is probably not free and honest.
