Gudi padwa– puranpoli; Ganeshotsav– ukdiche modak; Eid– sheer-khurma; those and many other festivals have positive food items related to them. But, what if we told you that most of these may also be savoured as ice lotions? At the city-based Kiga ice-cream parlour, you can do exactly that. Traditional muffins, together with puran poli, ukdiche modak, til-gul, sheer khurma and more, have found their manner into scoops of the summer-beaters.
Located at Bajirao Road and Hadapsar, Ganesh Gosavi, the co-owner of the joint, says, “We wanted to carry the most productive of muffins into the most beloved summer season dessert- ice cream. To make those ice lotions, items like puran poli, ukdiche modak and so on are mixed in milk and are frozen. We don't use any preservatives and retain the original taste of the dishes.” The position also has a Peshwai ice cream thali on be offering. Kiran Salunke, co-owner, adds, “The thali provides flavours like sajuk tupatli puran poli, sajuk tupatle ukdiche modak, shahi meva kheer, shahi gulkand, tilgulache laadu, badam royal cream, gajar badam halwa, mango mastani and particular dry culmination ice cream, in a single massive position!” Priced at ₹ 250, the mere point out of the thali is enough to make you drool.
Other flavours available at the outlet include kojagiri ice cream, motichoor laddu, paani puri, misal and shahi meva kheer are also available and are priced at ₹ 75 per scoop.
